How to delete your account
When you delete your SnapMate account, your profile is immediately removed from Discover and is no longer visible to other users. Your data is then deleted as set out below.
Delete from the SnapMate app
- Sign in to the SnapMate app
- Go to the Profile tab
- Tap the Settings icon in the top corner
- Tap Account
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm deletion
What gets deleted, and when
Different parts of your data follow different timelines. Here's exactly what happens after you confirm account deletion.
Deleted immediately
- Your profile, photos, bio, and preferences
- Your visibility in Discover and Utopia
- Your likes, super likes, and matches
Deleted after a 30-day safety window
- Your message and chat history
We hold chat history for 30 days after your account is deleted. This safety retention window lets us investigate reports of harmful or illegal activity involving your account that may have been filed shortly before deletion. After 30 days, this data is permanently purged and cannot be recovered.
Keep in mind
Simply uninstalling or removing the SnapMate app from your phone will not delete your account — you must follow the steps above.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions are managed through your app store account — Google Play or the Apple App Store — and must be cancelled separately.
Once your account is deleted, you lose access to it and to any data associated with it. This action cannot be undone.

Want to delete only some of your data?
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove your photos. From Profile → Edit Profile, you can delete any photo individually at any time without affecting the rest of your account.
